Stop Indoctrinating the Hamilton Wenham students and humiliating those who don’t comply!

Here is the latest ANNA SIEDZIK cult product forced onto the school administrators, teachers, other employees, families and students. If I had a child in the Hamilton Wenham Schools, I would pull them out, pronto …. as many have already…. and the superintendent wonders WHY?

Students just want an education. They should not be put into the position of making the choice… 1) go with the indoctrination crowd or 2) ignore the indoctrination crowd ….

Either way, students are forced into a no win position of putting themselves out into the public eye, making this choice…. How they feel about LGBTQ folks is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS…

This drama and nonsense does not belong in our schools. Students who attend public school did not sign up for this. Parents just want their children to receive an education not an indoctrination….

Will Anna siedzik send investigators into the homes of students who choose not to yield to her demands? Will Anna Siedzik accuse those parents of student’s who don’t comply of being “racist, antihuman rights TERFS” ? Will Anna Siedzik continue to control every aspect of our lives in Hamilton Wenham?

The Day of Silence is a day of commemoration for many students and adults in our community. We are one of thousands of schools all over the country that participates. The intention is to help us remember the many LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning) people who have been silenced by those who do not or have not accepted them. Being silenced can mean many things. The most common instance of silencing behavior in our community is when a student says aloud in a common space, “That’s so gay” or a similar comment that is derogatory toward LGBTQ people. The effect of this kind of statement on a person who either is LGBTQ or has family and friends who are is that this person is not safe to be around, and school, in general, may not be safe. Further, if this conversation happens within earshot of a faculty member who does nothing to stop it, its effects on the student are compounded and the student feels more isolated. As bullying has become an issue of national concern, we feel proud that Miles River Middle School and Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School have begun work to create a community that strives for acceptance, not just tolerance. We hope that events like the Day of Silence will give needed attention to the struggles of the LGBTQ community, as well as provide a moment to be aware of and grateful for our school’s supportive environment. Here is how the day works: The Day of Silence is a completely voluntary event. On April 13th, students can choose if and how they want to be a part of the Day of Silence. If they would like to be a part of the day, they can either “participate” or “support.” Students who choose to be a ‘Participant’ commit to being silent from 7:45 am until 2:20 pm. This means they will not speak in classes, but will still be expected to complete all class activities and express concerns or questions through writing. They will wear a sticker that indicates their silence and carry a handout to explain the meaning of being silent. Students who choose to be a ‘Supporter’ will wear a sticker throughout the day in a show of support and talk as usual. Faculty and student representatives from the GSA will be in the main lobby starting at 7:25 to hand out stickers and information on April 13th. Toward the last block of the day, participants and supporters (with teacher permission!) are invited to gather in the Cafeteria to “Break the Silence” and reflect on the day with a special guest speaker. If you have questions about the day or want to learn more about the LGBTQ community, please contact any of us, or check out the website www.glsen.org and look up Day of Silence.Sincerely,Ms. Gina DeNapoli and Ms. Kaleigh Mangiarelli, GSA Advisors Dr. Zachary Best, Middle School Principal Mr. Bryan Menegoni, High School Principal
